At Dubois

The Lady Dogs dropped to 7-6-1 on the season with a 1 0 loss to the Lady Beavers of Dubois. The match was hard fought on both ends. Dubois did a better job of exerting pressure on us early in the match than last year. We were able to stifle their speed, and connect a lot of passes. However, Meadville once again was not getting good shots off. Our best chance came at about the ten minute mark of the game. We hit a series of combination passes that allowed Karalyn Adams to receive a short through ball inside the 18. The ball took an awkward bounce, and Karalyn wasn't able to get much power behind it. The Dubois Goalie had over committed and her side literally landed on top of the ball preventing the goal.

In the second half, it was a see saw  affair. until about the 17 minute mark when Grace Cessna was able to block, but not control, a shot that deflected around inside the 18. Our defenders got behind Grace to cover the goal, yet their number 3 was able to get it in. After the Dubois goal, we were in control up until the last three minutes, but once again we are having difficulties with our shots. It is the same group that netted most of the 98 goals last year. We have numerous finishing drills that are executed each practice, but we simply aren't getting any breaks.
