Thursday night at Barco Duratz in Meadville:

The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 6-4-1 on the season with a 7 0 loss to McDowell, it's definitely not what our seniors wanted. It didn't take long for McDowell to get an opportunity to score. Just 25 seconds into the match a Meadville player handled the ball inside the 18 to give McDowelll a 1 0 lead. We simply cant do that with a team like McDowell.

Meadville settled and even put pressure on the Trojans, however about ten minutes later McDowell did a nice job and struck a nice ball that hit the side of the net, and they were up 2 0. It still looked like the Lady Dogs were going to battle, but at the 20 minute mark There was a flurry of Trojan goals and it looked like it was going to be a slaughter. It would have been easy for the team to get a fixed mindset, and just give up and prepare excuses. Yet there was a growth mindset moment.

With the Trojans up 5 0, Senior Ashley Chess was put back into the central defense, and she began to rally the team. It was a wonderful scene to witness. Coach Miller commented "that girl has so much heart and hustle, I've been fortunate to be a part of her soccer career" Our team was able to regain composure, and Elizabeth Adams also stepped into a greater role in stopping the onslaught. We were able to go into half 5 0. Our goal in the second half was to prevent any goals from scoring, however we gave up two more including a pk.

Meadville is coming up on the toughest part of their schedule with a game saturday home against Girard, then a killer road trip with Villa on Monday, Dubois on Tuesday, and Pine Richland on Thursday.  The Lady Dogs are looking forward to the challenge of such a schedule
