The McDowell Trojans brought the Lady Dogs back to reality last night with a 6 to 0 trouncing. The first twenty minutes were like a nightmare in which you are being chased, but your legs won't work, and McDowell had built a 4 to 0 lead. Simply put: you can't spot a McDowell or Villa four goals and expect to win. I have to give my girls some credit, because we were able to stop the nightmare and then play the game. Last year we had a similar performance against Hickory, but  weren't able to regroup until the half. This year, after a quarter of play, the girls adjusted themselves and became competitive. We were able to have two really good scoring opportunities before the half, and in the second half we would have even more opportunities. However, in the second half they would committed two more errors and McDowell quickly punished them each time. Our number one priority when we watch the tape is to reflect on how do we not come out so flat against tougher opponents and improve defensively at the start. Meadville travels to Vets stadium on Thursday to play Central Tech at 4 pm
